Eyes That Won’t Sleep

Eyes That Won’t Sleep

It Never Ends

Glares and lingering images,
Lights that followed,
Haunting even in the dark.

Fireworks,
Sparks,
Spasms –
Still, they follow in pitch black.

So intense,
So vivid.

Pained, exhausted,
Eyes that gave up,
Images that blur.

Bouncing like basketballs,
Resetting like typewriters,
Twitching like dancers,
Partying without permission.

My mind – too loud,
A storm I cannot weather.

I long for peace, for rest,
But it never ends.
