More Than Medicine

I could really use a hug –
Not another pill
To swallow my sadness,
Not another prescription
To mask what words can’t heal,
Not a hollow reassurance
That fades before it lands.

Just a warm, tight hug –
The kind that says:
“You are seen.
You are safe.
You are not alone.”
