Justice was never mine.
Too many forces aligned-
a single nurse
against a system that shields abusers,
silences victims,
and treats abuse as routine.
People of color–
criminalized first,
protected last,
ignored when they need help.
Healthcare providers–
stripped of humanity,
denied respect,
silenced.
I was assaulted, pushed aside, and terminated,
while those responsible remained untouched.
I never stood a chance.
